The past few weeks have carried a little bit of everything: a memorable trip to San Antonio, a great concert with one of my best friends, productive work, steady progress across several apps, and a lot of gratitude for how well things are going at home.
It has been a full season, but a good one.
A Night in San Antonio With Mike
One of the highlights was getting to take a trip to San Antonio and see J. Cole on The Fall Off Tour.
I went with my best friend Mike, which made the night even better. Concerts are always memorable on their own, but sharing the experience with someone who has known you for a long time gives it a different kind of meaning. There is something special about stepping away from the normal rhythm of work, family responsibilities, and everyday routines to enjoy a night like that together.
The trip was a good reminder that progress is not only measured by what gets built or completed. Some of the best parts of life happen in the spaces between the bigger responsibilities.
A night in San Antonio, good music, and time with a close friend gave me a chance to enjoy the moment instead of thinking about the next task.
Productive Work and Steady Progress
Work has been productive too.
There have been plenty of responsibilities to manage, but it has been satisfying to see consistent progress and feel like the effort is moving in the right direction. Productive seasons do not always mean everything is easy. Often, they mean the work is clear enough to keep moving and the different pieces are beginning to line up.
That has been the feeling lately.
I have been able to stay focused, make progress, and keep showing up for the work even while balancing everything else. That balance is not always perfect, but it is something I continue to value.
The goal is not to eliminate every busy season. It is to build a life where the work matters, the family remains central, and there is still room to enjoy the good moments along the way.
Apps Are Still Moving Forward
The app portfolio continues to grow and change.
While We’re Here went live, which was another meaningful step from idea to public product. Getting an app into the world always feels different from building it privately. Once it is live, the product becomes real in a new way. People can find it, use it, give feedback, and decide whether it is something they want to keep using.
Glora Upkeep is currently in review, and Rise & Capy is also in review. That waiting period is familiar by now, but it still carries a little anticipation every time. There is a lot of work that happens before submission, and then the final decision is outside my hands for a while.
That is part of building for a platform. You can prepare carefully, test the product, polish the listing, and submit the release, but eventually you have to let it move through the process.
The important thing is that these apps are moving forward. Some are live, some are in review, and others are still being improved. The portfolio is not standing still.
A Big Milestone for Heirloom
One of the most encouraging milestones has been with Heirloom.
Over the last 28 days, RevenueCat shows about $125 in revenue. Heirloom is subscription-based and now has five subscribers, putting it in triple-digit monthly recurring revenue territory based on the current subscription mix.
That is a small milestone compared with the scale of many software businesses, but it feels significant because it represents real progress from a product that started as an idea.
A number like that is not just a financial result. It is evidence that people are finding value in the product and are willing to support it.
It also creates a new kind of responsibility. Once an app begins gaining momentum, upkeep matters even more. Users expect the app to remain dependable, and future improvements need to serve the people who are already using it.
The milestone does not mean the work is finished. It means the work has reached a point where the next stage feels more tangible.
There is still plenty to learn, but it is encouraging to see Heirloom becoming a real business instead of remaining only a project.
The Kids Are Doing Great
The best news at home is that all three kids are doing great in school.
They all have As, which is something we are incredibly proud of. School takes consistent effort, and seeing them do well reflects not only their ability but also the work they are putting in every day.
As a parent, it is rewarding to watch each child grow in their own way. They do not all learn or experience things in exactly the same way, but they are each making progress and finding their rhythm.
Sean is growing too and spending time with us at home while we work. Having him around is a reminder that family life does not happen in a separate section of the day. It is mixed into the work, the breaks, the interruptions, and the small moments that make a house feel lived in.
Those moments can make a workday less predictable, but they also make the work more meaningful.
A Men’s Study Group at Church
Another positive part of this season has been being involved in a men’s study group at church.
That has been going well, and I have appreciated having the chance to spend time with other men who are also trying to grow in their faith, family life, work, and character.
A group like that creates space for conversations that are easy to postpone when life gets busy. It helps to have regular time set aside for reflection, encouragement, and honest discussion.
The study group has been another reminder that growth is not only professional or financial. It is also spiritual and relational.
The people around us influence how we think, what we prioritize, and how we respond when life gets difficult. Being part of a group that encourages steady growth is something I am grateful for.
A Season Worth Appreciating
Looking back, this has been a full stretch of life.
There was a trip to San Antonio and a concert with Mike. Work has been productive. While We’re Here went live, Glora Upkeep and Rise & Capy are in review, and Heirloom crossed an exciting revenue milestone.
At home, the kids are doing well in school, Sean is growing up around us, and church has provided another meaningful community through the men’s study group.
There are still plenty of projects ahead and plenty of decisions to make. But it is worth pausing to recognize the progress that is already here.
The work is moving. The family is doing well. The kids are growing. Friendships are still being enjoyed. Faith is still being practiced.
That is a good season.
