Good stretch of days. Birthday, beach, family, fireworks, and a launch. Here’s the rundown.
Birthday at South Padre Island
Rang in another year on June 26 out at South Padre Island — grass, wind, and the water stretched out behind us. Spent the afternoon sitting out on the field by the beach with the kids, just talking and messing around. My daughter photobombing every picture is basically the theme of this birthday, and I wouldn’t change it.
Simple day. Good one.
Fourth of July in Corpus
Packed up the kids and headed to Corpus Christi to spend the Fourth with family. Good food, good company, and fireworks in the evening with everybody together. There’s something about watching the sky light up with the kids that never gets old — their reactions make the whole trip worth it.
Corpus always feels like the right place for the Fourth.
World Cup Nights with the In-Laws
Between the trip and the holiday, we’ve been parked in front of the TV watching World Cup games at home with the in-laws and the kids. Something about a house full of people yelling at the same screen — good energy, good distraction, good way to close out the evenings.
Soccer season really does bring people together.
FamilyStop Is Live
Right in the middle of all of it, FamilyStop shipped — live on the App Store as of this Fourth of July weekend.
FamilyStop helps parents find family restrooms, changing tables, and other family-friendly stops nearby or along a route — the kind of thing you don’t think about until you’re out with kids and need it fast. Building it while chasing my own kids around all week felt fitting.
Another one shipped. Another one out in the world.
The Blog Got a Redesign Too
On top of everything, this site got a full redesign — new homepage laid out as a bento grid, a real apps hub linking out to everything I’ve shipped, tags on every post so you can filter by topic, and a cleaner look across the board.
Feels like the site finally matches the pace of everything else going on.
Birthday, beach, fireworks, a launch, and a redesign — not a bad way to kick off July.
