Finally Feeling Better
This past week knocked me around a bit.
I was sick for a good chunk of it, and honestly, it just drained everything. Energy was off. Focus was off. Even simple stuff felt heavier than it should have.
The good news is I’m finally getting better.
Not all the way back yet, but close enough to feel like myself again. After a rough week, that’s enough to be grateful for.
Buried at Work
At the same time, work has been absolutely stacked.
The kind of week where you don’t really get to ease back in, even if your body would prefer that. Just straight into the fire. Meetings, problems, follow-ups, more work waiting behind the work.
Not ideal timing, but that’s life sometimes.
Still, progress is progress. Even when the week feels chaotic, the job is to keep moving and not let the pressure turn into panic.
Replacing the A/C in Alton
On top of everything else, I had to deal with a full A/C replacement at the apartment unit in Alton.
Not exactly a small side quest.
It’s one of those things that immediately becomes the priority, because in South Texas, A/C problems aren’t really optional. You handle it fast, you solve it, and you keep the property from turning into a bigger headache.
So that’s what I did.
Not glamorous, not exciting, but necessary. Real life has a way of mixing big responsibilities with regular chaos and expecting you to figure it out anyway.
Good Time with the Kids
In the middle of all the mess, the best part has still been the kids.
We’ve been having fun, and that helps reset everything.
Even when work is heavy and the week is annoying, time with them brings things back into focus fast. Laughing, hanging out, doing normal family stuff — that matters more than most of the other noise.
I don’t want to miss those moments just because the week feels overloaded.
Birthday Airbnb Booked
One thing I’m genuinely excited about: I booked the Airbnb for my birthday this summer.
And yes — beach trip.
That’s a win.
Having something fun locked in like that feels good. It gives the summer a shape. Something to look forward to. A reminder that not everything is deadlines, repairs, and putting out fires.
Sometimes you need a trip on the calendar just to remember life is supposed to be enjoyed too.
The Theme Right Now
If there’s a theme for this moment, it’s probably this:
recover, handle what’s in front of you, and keep something good on the horizon.
Getting better after being sick. Carrying a heavy work week. Handling property problems. Enjoying the kids. Booking something fun for the summer.
That’s real life right there.
Not perfectly balanced. Not especially polished. But real, full, and moving forward.
And honestly? That’s enough.
